The Career and Technical Education Program provides many types of dual credit courses. Students may earn college hours for high school course work.
The Tech Prep program allows high school students who have mastered specified skills in high school Tech Prep courses to receive college hours with the Alamo Community College District. Program articulation allows students to make a smooth transition from high school to college.
Dual Credit is an agreement between a school district and a college in which students receive both high school credit and college hours for successful completion of a particular course. The course may be taught in either the high school or college setting. Colleges other than the one with whom the agreement was signed may accept the course hours. Students must meet minimum college standards regarding alternate college placement tests to participate in the Dual Credit program.
